Tropic Trooper (an APT) has been observed conducting multi-stage attacks against Chinese-speaking individuals in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea using a trojanized SumatraPDF that installs an AdaptixC2 Beacon (leveraging VS Code tunnels), plus router compromises and spear-phishing, indicating an expansion of tactics and targets and active campaigns reported by Zscaler and Darkreading.
