Google has filed a civil lawsuit alleging that a Chinese-speaking smishing network known as Lighthouse (part of the broader 'Smishing Triad') has operated a subscription-based phishing-as-a-service platform that enabled large-scale SMS/RCS/iMessage scams targeting millions across 120+ countries, stealing personal and financial data and reportedly generating over a billion dollars; the platform provides phishing templates, fake websites, backend management and employs anti-evasion techniques such as IP/user-agent filtering, time-limited URLs and domain rotation.
