China’s Salt Typhoon Spies Are Still Hacking Telecoms—Now by Exploiting Cisco Routers

Recorded Future reports that the Chinese-linked APT group known as Salt Typhoon has conducted intrusions against internet service providers and telecommunications firms in multiple countries (including the US, South Africa, Thailand, and Italy) and targeted universities worldwide for espionage; the company detected the activity by identifying the group's command-and-control infrastructure and cautions that the campaign may be broader than currently identified.
