US Treasury Department Admits It Got Hacked by China

U.S. Treasury disclosed a breach in which attackers exploited vulnerabilities in BeyondTrust remote support software, stole an authentication key to bypass defenses, and remotely accessed some Treasury workstations and certain unclassified documents; the activity is attributed to a China state-sponsored APT and is under joint investigation by Treasury, the FBI, CISA, the intelligence community, and private forensic investigators.
