Foxconn Ransomware Attack Shows Nothing Is Safe Forever

Ransomware group Nitrogen claims to have stolen 8 TB of data from electronics manufacturer Foxconn — including schematics and customer project details — and listed the company on its breach site; Foxconn acknowledged a cyberattack at some North American factories and has resumed production. The report notes Nitrogen’s emergence in 2023, links to ALPHV/BlackCat, reuse of Conti 2 code in its encryptor (with a flaw that prevents decryption), and places the incident in the context of repeated extortion and ransomware attacks against Foxconn.
