Scammers pretending to be Microsoft had help from US executives

Malwarebytes reports that two former executives of call-tracking company C.A.Cloud Attribution pleaded guilty to concealing their knowledge of a scheme that sold telephone numbers, call recordings, and call-forwarding services to tech support scammers; prosecutors allege they actively coached fraudsters, rotated numbers to avoid detection, and even operated a call center used for scams, with sentencing scheduled for June 16, 2026.
