Encryption Without Friction: Making Quantum-Safe Security Invisible for Users

This document argues that email remains the primary channel for sensitive organizational decisions and recommends adopting frictionless, user-friendly encryption combined with quantum-safe planning to prevent workarounds and long-term exposure. It describes the usability risks that drive insecure behavior, defines operational requirements for seamless encryption (policy automation, auditability, reliability), explains the store-now-decrypt-later quantum threat, and provides a five-step roadmap: map sensitive conversations, define data policies, run user-focused pilots, require audit logs, and build a quantum readiness procurement roadmap.
