INFORM 2026: MITRE’s Updated Threat-Informed Defense Maturity Model Explained

MITRE’s Center for Threat-Informed Defense released a major update to INFORM, its threat-informed defense maturity model, introducing refined assessment questions and scoring, an impact-versus-complexity recommendation matrix, and mappings to related maturity models (CTI, Red Team, SOC, Gartner CTEM). The update, developed with AttackIQ and community input, supports program measurement, resource prioritization, budget justification, onboarding, supply chain assessments, training, and large-scale surveys, with an accompanying webinar to guide organizations in adopting and advancing TID practices.
