Google Extends Gmail Encryption to Mobile, but Limits Access to Enterprise Tier

Google has extended client-side encryption to the Gmail mobile apps for eligible Google Workspace Enterprise Plus customers, letting messages and attachments be encrypted on the sender’s device with organization-managed keys. The feature, which administrators must enable and which is aimed at regulated industries, preserves interoperability with other platforms via a secure web interface but remains restricted to enterprise customers and select compliance add-ons.
