This report presents a 'Threat Categorization Model Decision Flow' that maps threat-modeling frameworks to stages of the system lifecycle—design/architecture, risk/compliance for existing systems, and detection/defense for live environments—while surveying techniques and frameworks such as CAPEC, PASTA, NIST CSF, STRIDE, LINDDUN, Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK, OCTAVE, DREAD, and VAST, and advocating for integrating AI/ML into automated, proactive threat modeling.
