Implications of AI for Corporate Security

This article examines how AI will augment rather than replace corporate security teams, emphasizing that it is a tool requiring skilled human oversight. It highlights offensive uses by threat actors—deepfakes for fraud and reputational harm, scalable AI-generated swatting/bomb threats, rapid propaganda creation, and accelerated PII harvesting—while advocating for defensive adoption of machine learning and generative AI to improve monitoring, detect deepfakes, identify threat patterns, and protect sensitive information. Security leaders are urged to experiment safely with AI now to stay ahead of evolving threats.
