Can AI Solve the Hacker Attribution Problem?

This article analyzes the emerging role of AI in cyber attribution, arguing that machine learning and large-scale stylometry can materially improve the speed and fidelity of linking online personas, deanonymizing actors, and inferring behavioral attributes, while emphasizing limits such as training-data dependence, adversaries weaponizing AI to evade identification, and important legal and policy trade-offs; AI augments but does not replace human judgment in attribution.
