Gcore Radar report reveals 150% surge in DDoS attacks year-on-year

Gcore's Q3–Q4 2025 Radar report documents a sharp escalation in DDoS activity—attacks rose to ~1.3M in Q4 and peak volumes reached ~12 Tbps—driven by automated botnets, expanded insecure IoT ecosystems, and easier access to attack tools; network-layer attacks dominate (82%) and are increasingly short, high-intensity bursts while application-layer attacks trend longer, with Mexico, Brazil and the US prominent as attack source regions and technology, financial services and gaming as the most targeted sectors.
