Why Every CISO Needs a Head of AppSec in the Age of Vibecoding

AI-assisted development (“vibecoding”) is reshaping how software is built, increasing speed and ambiguity while introducing new risks such as logic flaws, insecure dependencies, and misconfigurations. The report argues that CISOs cannot realistically oversee day-to-day AppSec in this environment and recommends creating a Head of AppSec role to centralize application security ownership, improve developer-aligned remediation, and preserve an adversarial validation mindset to manage evolving AI-driven risks.
